The next upcoming event by Apple Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) Keynote on 6th June is coming close and it is expected to be  a major event as the company is sending invites to the journalists from Australia to cover the event. Charlie Brown, editor Australian technology has confirmed his invitation for the event and also expects the event to reveal something major big.

I think something big will be announced on June 6th in San Fran, by #Apple. I have just been invited to attend the event.

It is already rumored that the event wont be including any hardware release instead will be iOS and Mac OS centric and may also disclose cloud based music service. But as usual Apple can give more than expected as international journalists are not invited in any smaller events.

iTunes 10.2.2 for Windows and Mac OS is just released by Apple for download. The updated version includes minor syncing issues, performance improvement and many bug fixes.

Change log for 10.2.2:

• Addresses an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive when syncing an iPad.
• Resolves an issue which may cause syncing photos with iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to take longer than necessary.
• Fixes a problem where video previews on the iTunes Store may skip while playing.
• Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance.

Stefan Essar ( aka i0n1c) who found untethered exploit to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 has confirmed that Apple has not patched untethered exploit in iOS 4.3.2. He just need to regenerate the public binaries again for iOS 4.3.2 to work untethered jailbreak. Soon we will get the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2.

Apple has been nice. I just verified that the untether vulnerability is not fixed in iOS 4.3.2 – my Ipad 1 is running untethered jailbroken

Of course the public untether binaries will not work with iOS 4.3.2 – I have to generate new untether binaries with new dyld/kernel offsets

i0n1c will start work on untethered from Sunday and soon then will give it to Dev Team to update and test Redsn0w and PwnageTool . As we know, iOS 4.3.2 is released by Apple and we can jailbreak it using PwnageTool bundles for Mac. The untethered version is broken but we still can use tethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 3G, 4G and iPad 1G.  PwnageTool 4.3 allows you to restore to a custom IPSW file on Mac OS X without upgrading the baseband, so that you can unlock your device with ultrasn0w. Here we the complete guide to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 on your device with PwnageTool 4.3.

To jailbreak your device with PwnageTool 4.3 you need to first download PwnageTool 4.3, download the latest version of  iTunes 10.2.1, download firmware iOS 4.3.2 and copy all in a folder on your desktop. Now, you can follow the step by step guide given below to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch  4G, 3G and iPad.

Modifying PwnageTool

Step 1: Select and download PwnageTool bundles specific to for your iOS device. Extract the .zip folder, and copy the budle files to your desktop

• iPhone3,1_4.3.2_8H7.bundle (iPhone 4)
• iPad11_4.3.2_8H7.bundle (iPad)
• iPod4,1_4.3.2_8H7.bundle (iPod touch 3G, 4G)

Step 2:Download PwnageTool 4.3 and copy it to your desktop. Right click, and then click on “Show Package Contents”

Step 3: Copy the .bundle files to PwnageTool.app/Content/Resources/FirmwareBundles/

Step 4:Copy info.plist inside PwnageTool.app/Content/Resources/CustomPackages/CydiaInstaller.bundle/   (IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT CYDIA IN YOUR IPSW)

Steps to Jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 with PwnageTool 4.3 custom firmware:

Step 1: Start iTunes 10.2.1 and sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with your Mac and back up important data including apps, settings, music, contacts and photos.

Step 2: Double click to start PwnageTool 4.3. Select ‘Expert Mode’ from the top menu bar and then select your device (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, 4G, iPad, Apple TV 2G). Click the arrow button at the bottom to continue.

Step 3: Click “Browse for IPSW” button and then select your firmware from the folder where you have saved it.

Step 4: You will see multiple options screen as shown in the figure below. Select “General” then click the arrow button to continue.

Step 5: Under General settings Check “Activate the phone’ if you are not with an official carrier and click the arrow button to continue. If on official carrier uncheck “Activate the iphone” option and continue.

Step 6: Now the Cydia settings window will allow you to create custom packages. Double click any of the packages to select. For example, double click on OpenSSH, it will then appear under Select Packages tab.

Step 7: Select Packages Tab and then select OpenSSH as shown in the screen below.

Step 8: Everything is now ready to begin the pwnage process. Click the Build button to select it then click the arrow button to begin.

Step 9: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone. You will be prompted to save custom .ipsw firmware file. Save it to the desktop. It might take 10-15 minutes for building custom firmware, so be patient.

Step 10: Now you need to restore your iPhone to this custom firmware 4.3.2 for your iPhone or iPod touch. For doing this, click on your phone icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Press and hold left “alt” button on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update’) button in the iTunes. Now, release the “Shift” button.

Step 12: iTunes will now prompt you to select the location for your custom firmware 4.3.2 Once your iPhone is successfully in DFU mode.

Step 13: Once In iTunes, hold the Alt/Option key and click Restore.

Step 14: Now select the custom IPSW that was created and click the Choose button. Wait for a while till iTunes installs the new firmware 4.3.2 on your iPhone. After the installation is done, iPhone will restart automatically.

Step 15: You have now successfully jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Apple TV running iOS 4.3.2. You can follow the steps here for how to tethered boot your jailbroken idevice.

You can now restore back your data from iTunes which you saved in step 1.You can also use the following redsn0w guide for untethered iOS 4.3.2 jailbreak.

Dev Team has released the updated the Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 to fix the signal bar issues and compatibility to unlock iOS 4.3.1 on iPhone. Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 does not unlock  new basebands but can only be used to unlock the basebands supported by Ultrasn0w 1.2.

We’ve pushed out the 4.3.1 compatibility fix for ultrasn0w in Cydia – it’s now at version 1.2.1.  If you’re not already at 4.3.1 and you need the unlock,please be sure you understand how to get to 4.3.1 using a custom IPSW that doesn’t update your baseband.

This isn’t a new unlock! It’s to allow those who are already unlocked to use FW 4.3.1.  It also fixes the signal bar issue for those who aren’t using the unlock but retain an older baseband intentionally.

AFTER INSTALLING ULTRASN0W 1.2.1, PLEASE REBOOT YOUR iPHONEusing the normal “slide to power off” swipe.  T-Mobile users in the USA also should disable 3G mode in Settings->General->Network.

Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 4.3.1 / iOS 4.2.1 with the following tools and guide provided here. If already jailbroken then proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Launch ‘Cydia’ on your jailbroken iPhone.

Step 3: Select the ‘Manage’ tab visible at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4: Select the ‘Sources’ button which appears on the screen as shown in the picture below.

Step 5: Select the ‘Edit’ button from the top and then ‘Add’ button which appears.

Step 6: A prompt will open to enter the url source as shown below. Enter ‘repo666.ultrasn0w.com ‘ in the space and select ‘Add Source’ button.

Step 7: Now the sources will be automatically updated by Cydia.

Step 8: Once it is done select the ‘Return to Cydia’ button and select ‘Done’.

Step 9: Now, select repo666.ultrasn0w.com from the list sources and select ultrasn0w to install.

Step 10: Select the ‘Install’ button and then the confirm button to start installation.

Step 11: Wait until the packages are installed. Wait until the process completes and select ‘Return to Cydia’ button.

Step 12: Reboot the iPhone and you are done.

Now, you can use your unlocked iPhone 4 / 3GS on iOS 4.3.1 with any carrier. Good news for users waiting for iPad 2 jailbreak. P0sixninja from Chronic Dev Team has confirmed that they are finishing the work on iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1. Soon after they are done they will be releasing the updated GreenPois0n version to jailbreak iPad 2.

Since 4.3.1 is already exploited by the legendary @i0n1c, we’re working on finishing iPad2 jailbreak now.

As we know that iOS 4.3.1 is already out to jailbreak all idevices except iPad 2. P0sixninja has earleir confirmed that they have already found an exploit for iPad 2 jailbreak and they will be releasing updated GreenPois0n tool for jailbreaking iPad 2. It is anticipated that Chronic Dev Team has made SHAtter exploit work for iOS 4.3.1.

There are rumors that Apple will be releasing iOS 4.3.2 with in 2 weeks, hopefully, the jailbreak will release after the iOS update else it can be fixed easily in iOS 4.3.2.

Apple is cooking its next firmware update to bring iOS 4.3.2 and will be release it with in next two weeks. The news came up from BGR also reporting iOS 4.3.2 to bring few enhancements,  address security issues and some bug fixes for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
