As we know, iOS 4.3.2 is released by Apple and we can jailbreak it using PwnageTool bundles for Mac. The untethered version is broken but we still can use tethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 3G, 4G and iPad 1G. PwnageTool 4.3 allows you to restore to a custom IPSW file on Mac OS X without upgrading the baseband, so that you can unlock your device with ultrasn0w. Here we the complete guide to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 on your device with PwnageTool 4.3.
To jailbreak your device with PwnageTool 4.3 you need to first download PwnageTool 4.3, download the latest version of iTunes 10.2.1, download firmware iOS 4.3.2 and copy all in a folder on your desktop. Now, you can follow the step by step guide given below to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad.
Modifying PwnageTool
Step 1: Select and download PwnageTool bundles specific to for your iOS device. Extract the .zip folder, and copy the budle files to your desktop
- iPhone3,1_4.3.2_8H7.bundle (iPhone 4)
- iPad11_4.3.2_8H7.bundle (iPad)
- iPod4,1_4.3.2_8H7.bundle (iPod touch 3G, 4G)
Step 2:Download PwnageTool 4.3 and copy it to your desktop. Right click, and then click on “Show Package Contents”
Step 3: Copy the .bundle files to PwnageTool.app/Content/Resources/FirmwareBundles/
Step 4:Copy info.plist inside PwnageTool.app/Content/Resources/CustomPackages/CydiaInstaller.bundle/ (IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT CYDIA IN YOUR IPSW)
Steps to Jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 with PwnageTool 4.3 custom firmware:
Step 1: Start iTunes 10.2.1 and sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with your Mac and back up important data including apps, settings, music, contacts and photos.
Step 2: Double click to start PwnageTool 4.3. Select ‘Expert Mode’ from the top menu bar and then select your device (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, 4G, iPad, Apple TV 2G). Click the arrow button at the bottom to continue.
Step 3: Click “Browse for IPSW” button and then select your firmware from the folder where you have saved it.
Step 4: You will see multiple options screen as shown in the figure below. Select “General” then click the arrow button to continue.
Step 5: Under General settings Check “Activate the phone’ if you are not with an official carrier and click the arrow button to continue. If on official carrier uncheck “Activate the iphone” option and continue.
Step 6: Now the Cydia settings window will allow you to create custom packages. Double click any of the packages to select. For example, double click on OpenSSH, it will then appear under Select Packages tab.
Step 7: Select Packages Tab and then select OpenSSH as shown in the screen below.
Step 8: Everything is now ready to begin the pwnage process. Click the Build button to select it then click the arrow button to begin.
Step 9: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone. You will be prompted to save custom .ipsw firmware file. Save it to the desktop. It might take 10-15 minutes for building custom firmware, so be patient.
Step 10: Now you need to restore your iPhone to this custom firmware 4.3.2 for your iPhone or iPod touch. For doing this, click on your phone icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Press and hold left “alt” button on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update’) button in the iTunes. Now, release the “Shift” button.
Step 12: iTunes will now prompt you to select the location for your custom firmware 4.3.2 Once your iPhone is successfully in DFU mode.
Step 13: Once In iTunes, hold the Alt/Option key and click Restore.
Step 14: Now select the custom IPSW that was created and click the Choose button. Wait for a while till iTunes installs the new firmware 4.3.2 on your iPhone. After the installation is done, iPhone will restart automatically.
Step 15: You have now successfully jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Apple TV running iOS 4.3.2. You can follow the steps here for how to tethered boot your jailbroken idevice.
