by Jenny Lewis on July 27, 2010

iOS 4.1 Beta 2 firmware for iPhone 4 and iPod touch along with SDK is released and available for download. iOS 4.1 Beta 2 will be compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod Touch 2G and iPod Touch 3G. Similar to earlier iOS 4.1 version, the beta 2 version is also released for developers only.

iPhone 4 iOS 4.1 Beta 2 has the following updates in the release:

  • The baseband of the iPhone 3G and 3GS is updated and changed to 05.14.01_BL01.
  • Proximity senor issue is fixed in this release.
  • Updated to fix the HSUPA upload speed issues in iOS 4.
  • Fixed bug with displaying the MMS/photos on iPhone 3G and 3G. In the previous version in fact, the image contained in multimedia messages, on enlarging, black screen appeared.
  • Build number is updated to 885091b.

Note: As baseband is updated in the iOS 4.1 Beta 2, please don’t install the new build if your iPhone is jailbroken or take a back up before updating.

The release can be downloaded only if you have a membership of iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program as the release is not available for all users.
