iOS 4.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch is expected to be released in the upcoming Apple’s Music Event on September 1st, 2010. There were also reports indicating that, Apple is testing speed performance of iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G, as iOS 4.0.1/ 4.0.2 were having performance issues on iPhone 3G. iOS 4.1 is likely to include FaceTime video call via email address, re-designed Game Center and resolve the proximity sensor and the performance for iPhone 3G issues.

Apple had released iOS 1.1(iPhone 1.1) displayed on first generation iPod touch on September 14, 2007 in an special music event The beat goes on. Then iOS 2.1 (iPhone 2.1) was shown on September 9, 2008 at Apple’s event Let’s Rock and was finally released on September 12, 2008. And in last year, after the Apple’s music event It’s only rock and roll but we like it, OS 3.1(iPhone 3.1) was released on September 9, 2009.
So, if we see the history of iOS and events by Apple, every year in the organized music event apple has rolled out its updated iOS version. Does that predict that iOS 4.1 will be released on September 1, 2010 in the Special music event by Apple?
Initially, Apple has released iOS 4 version with iPhone. In fix of Antenngate issue reported in iPhone 4, Apple released iOS 4.0.1. There was a major PDF security exploit was detected by hackers who managed to jailbreak iOS 4.0.1 using web browser based JailbreakMe tool. However, to fix the PDF exploit Apple rolled out iOS 4.0.2, which is the latest version of iOS for iPhone and iPod Touch. Apple had already rolled out iOS 4.1 beta 2 and beta 3 for developers only.
Now, we just have to wait few more days to get answers of all questions and see what really comes on September 1st. What do you think about it?
