There was an podcast interview last week involving all the great iPhone hackers and devs including Planetbeing, Comex , Chpwn and iH8sn0w. A lot of things discussed in the podcast. The host of the podcast finally asked a question about the release date for the jailbreak and unlock of iPhone 4 and iOS 4.x. In response the question they notified that jailbreak is “pretty close to done” and the release is quite imminent without committing any date.
Comex has provided the information that Saurik is working on bootstrap and when he completes his work, and then jailbreak will be tested and released. Planetbeing is also ready with the unlock iPhone 4 tool and is halted because of the jailbreak to get released. So, after the jailbreak will be released, there will be no wait for unlock also.
Now, there is an update regarding the Saurik’s work. It is being reported that Saurik has sent a message to an anonymonus user that his work is complete and he has given the bootstrap to Comex. Now, the bottleneck in the jailbreak is over.
If this holds true, Comex will release the jailbreak quite soon followed by the Planetbeing iPhone 4 unlock. Earlier, Comex also updated that jailbreak release is not weekend bound and will be released as soon as it is done. So, hoping the jailbreak is in the final stage.
