Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS with Limera1n on Windows [How To Guide]

Limera1n is just released by Geohot to jailbreak iOS 4.1 for all iDevices. Limra1n is an untethered jailbreaking tool for windows. Limera1n can be used to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G / 3G, untethered running iOS 4.1 and Pad on iOS 3.2.2. Currently iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G is not supported by Limera1n. So, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G users, please don’t install this until it is confirmed for these supporting these devices.

To install Limera1n you must download Limera1n and should have any of the above devices mentioned running iOS 4.1. Limera1n is currently available for Windows only. Mac and Linux version are expected to come soon. Now, you can follow the step by step guide give here to jailbreak your idevice.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 iPhone 4, 3GS using Limera1n on Windows

Connect your iPhone via USB to your computer. Open the application and click on the prompt “Make it Ra1n”

Now wait for the device to enter recovery mode by holding “Home” + “Power” buttons together. Now release the “Power” button. Now wait for the device to enter DFU mode.

Now start Limera1n app from your iPhone and install Cydia.
Now restart your device.

Your iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad has been jailbroken. You cannot unlock 05.14.02 baseband of your iPhone. But if you have preserved your baseband while upgrading to iOS 4.1, then you can use Ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone. Rest users have to wait until unlock is released. spent the last 15 hours looking for ways to jailbreak the 4.0.2 software by downgrading and finally gave up on jailbreaking and updated to 4.1. I wish i found this before.
