Next generation iPad Feature List, Release expected in January 2011

Apple is expected to roll out next generation iPad in January 2011. According to digitimes research, the next generation iPad will be equipped with Cortex-A9 design based CPU and 512 MB RAM. They have also anticipated that the iPad will be announced by Verizon in CES 2011 and will be available from January 2011. There are other rumors that the iPads will be containing are the camera for FaceTime video calling feature, upgraded to iOS 4.0/4.0.1and Apple is planning to launch smaller size 7 inch iPads. Here we have compiled the expected feature list of next generation iPad.


Compiled feature list of next generation iPad:

  • 7 inch iPad in comparison t current which are 9.7 inch in size
  • Faster processer with Cortex-A9 design CPU
  • 512 MB RAM
  • An IPS panel with a resolution of 1024×768
  • iOS 4.1/4.0.1 upgrade
  • Front Camera
  • FaceTime Support
  • Gyroscope functionality

 The current iPad comes with 256 MB RAM and Cortex-A8 based A4 chip. So, the speed of the next gen iPad will be doubled with the new up-gradations. The camera support will enable users to video calling and the smaller size iPad will be more andy to carry to take along.

 However, Apple is scheduling an event in Mid-August in which it is articulated that Apple will announce release iOS 4/iOS 4.1 for iPad and iPod Touch 4G.
