MuscleNerd has recently unveiled that using planetbeing’s loader; iPhone 4 can be unlocked using only 2 steps. Earlier, iPhone Dev Team have already identified an exploit to defeat the anti-ultrasn0w “tambering” checks in iPhone 4 baseband and will be using it in ultrasn0w to unlock iPhone 4. The iPhone Dev team had 3 methods to unlock iPhone 4. The methods were tested for efficiency and the one which is most promising was supposed to be released as the unlock tool “ultrasn0w” for iPhone 4 Baseband. Now it seems that planetbeing’s loader will be the first to be released.
Comex is currently working on spirit userland jailbreak for iPhone 4 and soon is expected to be releasing the tool. After the jailbreak tool is released by Comex, planetbeing’s 2 step loader will be rolled on to unlock iPhone 4 easily. Unlocking tool is of no use without jailbreak tool as only jailbreaked iPhones can be unlocked.
Unlocking iPhone enables the device to become carrier free. I.e. US users can use any SIM card on the iPhone and need not to be only of AT&T which helps users to travel outside US with the same SIM in the iPhone.
